Social Pedagogy in Staffordshire

Staffordshire is part of a National programme called

"Head, Heart, Hands" with the intention to develop social pedagogy in the fostering service.

Prior to this programme social pedagogy has been tested in residential care, At the moment County Council's children's homes are embracing social Pedagogy in their practice.

What is Social Pedagogy?

A Social pedagogic approach is a unique blend of academic knowledge and an understanding of emotions combined with hands-on practical action. It promises to herald a shift away from following procedures to supporting foster carers and practitioners to build positive working relationships that lead to stability, better outcomes and long-term well-being
